Our quest to tackle the language barrier problem
Call For Duty is committed to language barrier solutions
We are endeavouring to set up a permanent call centre in the UK to operate 24/7. This will help address the immigrant language barrier problem at all levels and to connect autochthonous to allochthonous to share and discuss problems and to put migrants in touch with professional services providers.
- To start with the call centre will be managed by professional multi-linguists who will speak more than two languages and at least one other foreign language or African dialect.
- The idea is to have a freephone number for all immigrants to call at any time of the day or night, 7 days a week, at no cost to themselves. Callers can ask any question involving social life, asylum procedures or indeed on any subject on matters of integration which may be affecting their lives. We will then advise and act in the best interests of the caller.
- Autochthones will be able to ring that number also to help address any queries they may have about their immigrant status and rights.
This service will cost money to set up, therefore we welcome donations for the project.
